Commissary CLICK2GO® on the GO! grocery delivery rolls out to 70 stateside stores:  Commissary CLICK2GO® on the GO! delivery has transitioned from pilot to deployment as the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) rolls out the service to 70 stores, providing additional benefits to service members, their families, and eligible civilians and veterans. In the first phase of deployment, DeCA expanded delivery to 62 stores, which joined the eight commissaries that were part of the original pilot that began in 2022. DeCA’s doorstep delivery contract includes the capability for expanding the service to its remaining 108 CONUS stores.

'PRICING PRACTICES' AT THE McCHORD COMMISSARY:

The Commissary is an Appropriated Funds facility; it is a not-for-profit entity unlike retailers outside the gate or even the BX.  Goods are procured and purchased by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) with DOD Appropriated Funds for resale to patrons.

While our customers can be assured that they are provided with the best overall prices in their shopping trips to our commissaries, when it comes to individual items each retailer may have a different cost from their suppliers. If we find that our cost does not allow us to be priced as competitively as we should be, or provide the savings we are committed to provide, our category teams will work diligently with our suppliers to negotiate the best cost possible. This might include running great promotions with deeply discounted prices. However, from time to time we may need to be priced slightly higher than a commercial store. At DeCA we are committed to provide the best overall savings to our customers that we can!

Patrons purchase products at cost + surcharge. Price changes are processed twice a month, on the 1st and 16th of each month. Surcharge is applied to the total value of each commissary purchase because the Congress has mandated collection of surcharge (currently 5 percent) to pay for commissary construction, equipment and maintenance. All surcharge dollars collected are returned to commissary patrons in the form of continually improved commissary facilities. The amount of surcharge applied to a commissary sale transaction is shown as "SCG" on your sales receipt.

COMMISSARIES TO REMAIN OPEN DURING A POTENTIAL LAPSE IN APPROPRIATION. Military commissaries will remain open worldwide for a limited amount of time during a potential lapse in appropriation. In the event of a lapse in appropriation, commissaries will continue full operation of commissaries for a period of up to 60 days or until all DeCA defense working capital funds are exhausted. 

DeCA has lifted the restrictions for reusable bags. You can now use reusable bags. Meat Power boxes are available for purchase.

Stop by our Deli Department and take advantage of the Deli sandwiches, and the Sushi department.

Commissaries announce operational policies amid COVID-19 outbreak. 

1) Commissary cashiers no longer handle patron ID cards. 

These policies include the following actions:

• Effective immediately, a 100-percent ID card check at all commissaries, so that only authorized customers will be able to shop. Children under 10 with their parents don’t have to have an ID card.
• Effective March 15, to prevent customer-to-customer spread of germs, commissary cashiers no longer handle patron ID cards. Instead, customers will be asked to scan their own ID. Cashiers can use the handheld scanner if available or have the customer scan their own card.  
• In a move to lessen panic-buying, the agency instructed its store directors worldwide to use their discretion in placing the shopping limits necessary to help maintain stock availability.

2) Shopping limits may be imposed on items deemed necessary by each individual Commissary Officer

Your Daegu Commissary would like to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has taken the time to clip and send coupons to the commissary. Our military members greatly appreciate your support helping them stretch their hard-earned dollars every month. As soon as we receive the coupons, our staff makes every effort to sort them and get them on the products. This new effort to actually place the coupons directly on the product is a big hit in all of our commissaries. Again, thank you so much for all that you do! Coupons are valid an additional 6 months of expiration date in Overseas commissary stores only.

In a hurry? Stop by the Grab-N-Go case. Come and grab some sushi or one of our ready-to-eat sandwiches packed with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard. Cold drinks are available beside the case as well. We have a great variety of fruit. Grab one of our convenient containers to go or order a fruit tray. Pineapples, grapes, watermelon, strawberries, and other fruits are healthy snack choices.

GENERAL PRODUCT AVAILABILITY:

The commissary orders 'high demand' products every day; however, there are many variables that effect their availability, or lack thereof. Some items such as bleach, hand sanitizer and spray disinfectant are subject to the prioritization of our crucial Health Care services. Other items such as toilet paper, water and meat are effected by trending shopping practices such as 'hoarding'.  

Please know that from a product availability standpoint, we’re continuing to work with industry suppliers and are GIVING OUR ALL to accommodate patron shopping needs. We are doing our 'all-consuming' best to keep the shelves stocked. As such, we will not respond to calls & e-mails in regard to 'high demand' stock levels and availability of product inquiries. Product is stocked throughout our hours of operation and as received.
