1.Protective Services Civilian Employees; an individual employed as a protective services civilian employee at a military installation may be permitted to purchase food and hygiene items at a commissary store located on that military installation.

2.  These positions included: Security Administration (GS-0080), Fire Protection and Prevention (GS-0081), Police (GS-0083), Security Guard (GS-0085),
     Emergency Management (GS-0089)

3. Only the individual employee has shopping privileges, not dependents and/or family members.

4. There are no other unique limitations on when they shop or what they buy other than alcohol / tobacco products.  

Starting Jan. 1, 2020 all service-connected disabled veterans, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war and primary veteran caregivers will be eligible to shop at commissaries worldwide. Commissary online ordering and curbside pick up is now available for our valued customers.  Convenient for customers with busy schedules.  You may order anywhere using computer or your cell phone with internet connection.  Order is available 24/7 or minimum of three hours in advance for pick up.  Service fee waived.

Customers can now download a mobile app to access the Defense Commissary Agency’s website programs such as Commissary CLICK2GO online payment and curbside pickup, digital coupons, the sales flyer, dietitian-approved recipes and much more. The mobile app is free for download through the Google Play and iOS app stores.

Save time and money

Commissary CLICK2GO now accepts EBT/SNAP payments online and in the app. 

Commissary CLICK2GO, the Defense Commissary Agency’s (DeCA) online shopping and curbside pickup service, now accepts Electronic Benefits Transfer/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (EBT/SNAP) payments online and in the app.

“We’re proud to now offer EBT/SNAP customers the ability to use their entitlement for online payment,” said DeCA Director and CEO John Hall.”

Commissary CLICK2GO (CC2G) extended its services to commissary customers who participate in EBT/SNAP in all 50 states in October 2021. However, customers had to go inside the store to use their EBT/SNAP benefit to pay for their purchases. DeCA worked with the departments of Agriculture and Treasury to add the capability, and now customers can use their EBT/SNAP card when checking out via their shop.commissaries account or the mobile app.

The Commissary CLICK2GO payment processor currently accepts American Express, Discover, EBT/SNAP, Mastercard, Military Star and VISA for online and curbside payments.

EBT/SNAP is only available in the U.S., not at overseas locations. Customers use a card that’s similar to a credit or debit card to access their benefits. 

With the CC2G mobile app, commissary customers can access the online payment/curbside pickup service, digital coupons, the sales flyer, dietitian-approved recipes and more. The app is free for download through the Google Play and iOS app stores. All 235 commissaries around the world offer CC2G curbside pickup.   

DeCA participates in efforts to reduce waste in California

Commissaries in California will no longer issue single-use shopping bags starting in June as the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) follows local laws to reduce waste and protect the environment, the agency announced.

   In accordance with California Senate bill SB-270 signed in 2016, disposable carryout bags will no longer be available at any of the 24 California commissaries effective June 30, 2024.

   “DeCA is committed to complying with applicable local, territorial and state laws restricting the use of plastic and paper single-use bags,” said John Hall, DeCA Director and CEO. “We plan to implement a phased approach to eliminate single-use bags that considers our patrons’ needs and logistical limitations.” Over the years, DeCA has been a leader in energy, water and solid waste reduction, as well as implementing a robust recycling program to help protect the environment.”

   Commissary customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags from home or purchase reusable or hot/cold bags from the selection available at each store. Commissaries will post signs with more details to keep patrons informed.

   DeCA remains dedicated to environmental stewardship, reducing its ecological footprint, and complying with applicable environmental laws and regulations. DeCA’s approach to eliminating non-reusable bags in all 24 California commissaries takes into account its patrons’ needs, as well as various contractual, fiscal, statutory, and operational requirements.

   Eliminating single-use bags will be a major shift in commissary patron shopping habits, and DeCA will address potential concerns during the transition process. DeCA will also provide additional resources for education and awareness to ease the transition.

Limited Service on Mondays

Your Fairchild Commissary is now open 7 days a week. We are open on Mondays from 1100 to1700 with limited operations. Self-Check Out registers will be the Commissaries primary register to check out our patrons and deli/bakery/custom meat orders will be very limited.  As opposed to being closed it made sense to open the commissary for patrons to pick up items they need as opposed to having go somewhere else.

COVID Information 

The Fairchild Commissary is currently in LOW (green) status.  Masks are NOT currently required by all visitors regardless of vaccination status. Please continue to practice social distancing. Patrons are able to bring and use re-usable shopping bags. Limits will remain on certain items until supply chains regain consumer demand fulfillments. Store hours and entrance policies are subject to change per guidance from installation in partnership with Defense Commissary Agency.

Customers can earn two points for every dollar when they use their Military Star card to purchase their groceries at the Commissary. PRICING PRACTICES' AT THE FAIRCHILD COMMISSARY:

The Commissary is an Appropriated Funds facility; it is a not-for-profit entity unlike retailers outside the gate or even the BX.  Goods are procured and purchased by the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) with DOD Appropriated Funds for resale to patrons.

While our customers can be assured that they are provided with the best overall prices in their shopping trips to our commissaries, when it comes to individual items each retailer may have a different cost from their suppliers. If we find that our cost does not allow us to be priced as competitively as we should be, or provide the savings we are committed to provide, our category teams will work diligently with our suppliers to negotiate the best cost possible. This might include running great promotions with deeply discounted prices. However, from time to time we may need to be priced slightly higher than a commercial store. At DeCA we are committed to provide the best overall savings to our customers that we can!

Patrons purchase products at cost + surcharge. Price changes are processed twice a month, on the 1st and 16th of each month. Surcharge is applied to the total value of each commissary purchase because the Congress has mandated collection of surcharge (currently 5 percent) to pay for commissary construction, equipment and maintenance. All surcharge dollars collected are returned to commissary patrons in the form of continually improved commissary facilities. The amount of surcharge applied to a commissary sale transaction is shown as "SCG" on your sales receipt.

“Give the Gift of Commissary Groceries.”

Commissary Gift Cards can be purchased online and inside the commissary at the customer service desk. Anyone can purchase these gift cards, but the recipients must be an authorized patron. You can select an “open value” card from as little as $5 to as much as $300 per card.

Commissaries to remain open during a potential lapse in appropriation.

In the event of a lapse in appropriation, commissaries will continue full operation of commissaries for a period of up to 60 days or until all DeCA defense working capital funds cash are exhausted.  If after a lapse in appropriation occurs and DeCA's working capital funds are exhausted, at that time, overseas commissaries and stores identified as remote U.S. locations where no other sources of food are reasonably available for military personnel would remain open. 

FORT GREGG-ADAMS, Va. – Military commissaries will remain open worldwide for a limited amount of time during a potential lapse in appropriation, the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) announced.

“We are committed to doing everything possible to minimize the impact of any budget decisions on our patrons,” said John Hall, DeCA director and CEO. “The Defense Department recognizes how significant the commissary benefit is for our military’s wellbeing and quality of life.”

In the event of a lapse in appropriation, commissaries will continue full operation of commissaries for a period of up to 60 days or until all DeCA defense working capital funds cash are exhausted, Hall said. The agency’s 235 stores serve the military community in 13 countries worldwide.

“Our operating status would be subject to change depending on the length of a lapse in appropriation or until our current funding is exhausted,” he said. “We will always provide updated store information on our website, Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) as necessary,” he said. “We will do our best to support our military communities whenever and wherever possible.”

If after a lapse in appropriation occurs and DeCA’s working capital funds are exhausted, at that time, overseas commissaries and stores identified as remote U.S. locations where no other sources of food are reasonably available for military personnel would remain open.

Patrons should also check the “Store Information & Holiday Hours” box on their store’s webpage for specific operating schedules.

Hall also recommends that service members and their families stay tuned in to their local news outlets for information about any potential impact to services on their installations.
