McConnell Air Force Base Commissary is now a 7-day operating facility - as part of the Defense Commissary Seven Day pilot program.
MCCONNELL AIR FORCE BASE, Kansas – The McConnell Air Force Base Commissary is pleased to announce the store will be open seven days a week starting June 6.
The new Monday opening is part of a Defense Commissary Agency pilot program and will offer full services, from 1000hrs to 1800hrs with items such as:
- Self-checkout registers and Cashier
- Full meat market operations to serve you
- Deli/bakery will be open along with having Pre-made sandwiches, salads (ie. grab and go) will be available
The commissary is determined to provide exceptional service, therefore we have extended our opening days to 7 days a week, for your convenience.
“The commissary benefit is a significant boost to military quality of life, and we are exploring various ways like seven-day shopping to help our customers maximize it.”

Cost associated with this change is 5 cents for plastic and 10 cents for paper single-use bags. This is in response to the U.S. Mint ending production of pennies in August 2025. Patrons may give pennies as part of paying for groceries, but pennies will not be handed back as change. Patrons may also write a check for the exact amount, as well as complete debit and credit card transactions to the penny.

York Street Market Sandwiches are available every day. Special Calzones, hard-boiled eggs, along with Oh Snap! Pickles and Vegetables are in our Grab 'n Go. Sushi is in our Grab 'n Go Section on Tuesday and Thursdays only! Beverages and snacks are nearby too!
BAKERY
Bakery items are located at the entrance to the Produce Department. A selection of cookies, cakes, pies and breads arrive on Thursday mornings. Lots of great products to choose from. Check out the table at the front of the Produce Department. You might just find something good to eat!
SELF-SERVICE BAGGING
Self-service bagging for your shopping convenience is located at both registers 1 and 2. Just let the Sales Store Checker know that you want to bag your own groceries.
Customers may bring their own reusable shopping bags to the Commissary and the baggers will bag the groceries or you may bag your own groceries. Just let the cashier know your preference.

Costs associated with this change is 5 cents for plastic and 10 cents for paper single-use bags. This change will allow the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) to continue to offer its eligible patrons significant savings while strengthening its fiscal stewardship and reducing operating expenses. Patrons submitting Commissary CLICK2GO® curbside or delivery orders will be given the option to purchase bags when checking out.
