Special Information
Starting April 6, 2026 commissaries will start charging a nominal
price for each single-use paper or plastic bag. Cost associated with this change is 5 cents
for plastic and 10 cents for paper single-use bags. This change will allow the Defense
Commissary Agency (DeCA) to continue to offer its eligible patrons significant
savings while strengthening its fiscal stewardship and reducing operating expenses.
Patrons submitting Commissary CLICK2GO® curbside or delivery orders will be
given the option to purchase bags when checking out.
PLEASE be aware of the parking lot and entrance to being done by base construction projects. Areas are easily marked by the cones.

Commissaries to remain open during a potential lapse in appropriation...
“We are committed to doing everything possible to minimize the impact of any budget decisions on our patrons,” said John Hall, DeCA director and CEO. “The Defense Department recognizes how significant the commissary benefit is for our military’s wellbeing and quality of life.”
In the event of a lapse in appropriation, commissaries will continue full operation of commissaries for a period of up to 60 days or until all DeCA defense working capital funds cash are exhausted, Hall said. The agency’s 235 stores serve the military community in 13 countries worldwide.
“Our operating status would be subject to change depending on the length of a lapse in appropriation or until our current funding is exhausted,” he said. “We will always provide updated store information on our website, Facebook and X (formerly known as Twitter) as necessary,” he said. “We will do our best to support our military communities whenever and wherever possible.”
If after a lapse in appropriation occurs and DeCA’s working capital funds are exhausted, at that time, overseas commissaries and stores identified as remote U.S. locations where no other sources of food are reasonably available for military personnel would remain open.
Patrons should also check the “Store Information & Holiday Hours” box on their store’s webpage for specific operating schedules.
Hall also recommends that service members and their families stay tuned in to their local news outlets for information about any potential impact to services on their installations.

The Cannon Commissary is considered Mission Essential and will remain open in a full or limited capacity when there is limited or delayed reporting. Any changes to the hours of operation will be posted here for your convenience. Please follow local command for updates in base closures or reporting status.
"Carry on Smartly" is a new DeCA campaign that will be arriving at stores in the near future. Commissaries will be transitioning from the use of single use bags to reusable bags. Until further notice, Cannon Commissary will continue to provide single use plastic and paper bags for your convenience. This is to inform you of the changes to come to the Commissaries to better prepare you for your future commissary trips when the transition occurs to reusable bags only.

Guest Rules
Authorized patrons are allowed to have guests. The sponsor must accompany the guest(s) at all times. As a reminder, though guests are welcome inside the commissary store, they are not authorized to shop or make purchases while visiting any commissary. Taking photos is prohibited within the commissary.
At this time, First Responders/Installation Security civilian workers are authorized to shop at the commissary. No other civilians outside of First Responders/Installation Security and DeCA personnel are authorized. When shopping, a valid CAC is required to initiate any transaction.
