Survival Rations

The Gunter Commissary has MRE's for all your hunting and camping needs. Stock up for emergency supply kits. Stop in and pick up a package or buy by the case located in front of the Deli Dept.

Welcome Veterans! Some important information for those who will be shopping with us: on your first visit your VA Health card must be credentialed to access the base. This is done at the Visitor Control Center, located at the Sartain Gate off the end of Hanscom Drive. If you are approaching via I-95 it will be the exit 46B for Rt. 2A West in Lexington. If you are approaching from I-495 take the exit for Rt 2 East which will bring you to Rt 2A East. Hanscom Drive is clearly marked. The Visitor Control Center is the building on the right as you take the sharp turn to enter the AFB.  

Visitor Center hours are Monday - Friday 0600 - 1600 and Saturday 0600-1400

Commissaries, AAFES partner to sell each other’s gift cards

The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) began selling their respective gift cards in both commissaries and exchanges on June 22. Commissaries will now have reciprocal agreements with AAFES and the Navy Exchange Command (NEXCOM) for gift card sales. DeCA began their partnership with the Navy in May 2018. Both organizations’ gift cards are open value: AAFES cards sold in commissaries are available in denominations from $5 to $1,500, and commissary cards sold in exchanges are available in amounts from $5 to $300. Authorized customers must still redeem the gift cards at their respective store or online.

*Gift Cards

Gift Cards are available online and at all commissaries worldwide – on a rack at full service, front-end registers.

Food Safety Reminder

The USDA recommends to “cook all raw beef, pork, lamb and veal steaks, chops, and roasts to a minimum internal temperature of 145 °F as measured with a food thermometer before removing meat from the heat source. For safety and quality, allow meat to rest for at least three minutes before carving or consuming. For reasons of personal preference, consumers may choose to cook meat to higher temperatures.” The USDA also suggests to “cook all raw ground beef, pork, lamb, and veal to an internal temperature of 160 °F as measured with a food thermometer. Cook all poultry to a safe minimum internal temperature of 165 °F as measured with a food thermometer.”
