Military commissaries will remain open worldwide for a limited amount of time during a potential lapse in appropriation, the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) announced. In the event of a lapse in appropriation, commissaries will continue full operation of commissaries for a period of up to 60 days or until all DeCA defense working capital funds cash are exhausted.
Our operating status would be subject to change depending on the length of a lapse in appropriation or until our current funding is exhausted.
We are committed to doing everything possible to minimize the impact of any budget decisions on our patrons.

The cards sold online are offered in $25 and $50 denominations, while those sold in stores are “open value,” meaning that you can choose to load as little as $5 or as much as $300 on a card.

Disabled patrons who rely on trained service animals can bring them into the commissary. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Service animals are working animals, not pets.
Dogs whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), 28 C.F.R., Part 36, "Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Disability by Public Accommodations and in Commercial Facilities, (Reference (bb)).

Commissaries are accepting the Military Star Card as a form of payment. Customers can earn two points for every dollar when they use their Military Star card to purchase their groceries at the Commissary. Fisher House Foundation has announced the winners of its annual Scholarships for Military Children program, which awards deserving children of U.S. service members scholarship grants, providing an early boost to their continued educational success. This year, the nonprofit foundation awarded 500 children a $2,000 scholarship for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year.
DeCA Internal Recall 2025-012 Shirayuki Jumbo Nama Udon
The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) has withdrawn Shirayuki Jumbo Nama Udon products from shelves and inventory, which were incorrectly stamped with the production date instead of the use-by date, according to an internal withdrawal message sent September 9.
