For the 23rd straight year, Fisher House Foundation’s Scholarships for Military Children program has awarded deserving children of U.S. service members scholarship grants, providing an early leg up in funding their higher education dreams. This year 500 children were each awarded a $2,000 scholarship by the nonprofit foundation for the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year.

National Korean War Veterans Day, July 27, observes the signing of the Korean Armistice Agreement on that date in 1953 at 10 a.m. in Panmunjom. The armistice officially ended the war that began on June 25, 1950, when North Korean forces crossed the 38th parallel separating South Korea from the North. Six years after the armistice was signed, U.S. military commissaries started operating in South Korea, beginning a legacy of service that continues today.
