Pet expos help commissaries draw attention to extra patron savings for food, medicines, supplies
What’s available at the commissary for your family pets? Hundreds of commissary patrons found out when they attended recent pet expos to check out available products and savings while pocketing some freebies to boot. The expos were an opportunity for the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) to let patrons know their commissary is a prime destination for their pet needs.

Extra savings on a variety of select products await stateside commissary patrons at the Defense Commissary Agency’s (DeCA) 2025 September Sidewalk Sale event. All 176 stateside commissary locations, including Alaska and Hawaii, will participate, with most stores hosting three- or four-day events, weather permitting. Pfister named director of Central Area

BENEFIT ON FAST TRACK: Commissaries spotlighted as JR Motorsports unveils DeCA logo on racing car
The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) hosted JR Motorsports (JRM), the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) team owned by NASCAR Hall-of-Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr., at its Fort Lee, Virginia, headquarters March 31. During the visit, JRM and driver Justin Allgaier unveiled the special paint scheme on a simulator replica of the No. 7 Chevrolet that will run at Charlotte Motor Speedway outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, May 27, featuring the familiar red, white and blue colors, plus DeCA’s logo on its hood.

Martin named acting DeCA director and CEO
The Department of Defense announced that Grier Martin will serve as acting director and chief executive officer of the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA). Martin is performing the duties of the assistant secretary of defense for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (M&RA) and will continue to serve in that capacity while he is with DeCA.
