Select military children on 10 installations will be participating in Procter & Gamble virtual ProCamps during June and July. This is the second year of virtual camps because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

John Turner III, assistant commissary officer at the Fort Bragg North Commissary in North Carolina, has been selected DeCA’s Outstanding Disabled Employee of the Year for 2021.

The Scholarships for Military Children program once again came through for 500 students from military families who were each awarded a $2,000 scholarship grant for the upcoming 2021 - 2022 school year. The program, created in 2001, recognizes the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force and celebrates the commissaries’ role in enhancing the military’s quality of life.

For the last three years, the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) and its military resale counterparts, the Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Coast Guard Exchange (CGX) the Marine Corps Exchange (MCX), and the Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM), have convened a joint marketing conference to find innovative ways to attract and better serve military customers.

Las Vegas Raider defensive end Clein Ferrell was part of the official kickoff event on Feb. 19 for the eighth year of the Procter & Gamble (P&G)-sponsored NFL ProCamps program for thousands of military children worldwide.

As winter gives way to spring, commissary customers will see significant savings with March sales promotions linked to Frozen Food Month, National Nutrition Month, St. Patrick’s Day, NFL ProCamps, the college basketball playoffs and more.

With the launch of the new patron access initiative on Jan. 1, customers in the new categories of disabled veterans, Purple Heart recipients, former prisoners of war and their certified caregivers can now sign up for an account on the commissary website.

More new commissary store brands, including an FDA-approved baby formula, will be hitting store shelves in upcoming months as the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) continues to augment its private label inventory.

The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) is working with the military communities most impacted by the coronavirus outbreak to increase shipments of high-demand items, particularly hand sanitizers and disinfectant wipes.
