Commissaries are observing April, the Month of the Military Child, with giveaways and savings for the entire family. DeCA's industry partners are collaborating with commissaries to offer discounts beyond everyday savings.

Introduced just four years ago, the Commissary Rewards Card's popularity with patrons is only growing with more than 1 million active users as of July 13, according to the Defense Commissary Agency officials.

While the DeCA’s 25th birthday on Oct. 1 is fast approaching, the agency salutes the people it has had the privilege to serve for the last 25 years: the men, women, and families of the military community – active duty, reserves, and retirees.

Operating seven days on backup generator power, the commissary at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, was "more than a grocery store" for the service members and their families there during the commercial power outage that began July 16.
