The Hillshire Brands Company Recalls Corn Dog and Sausage On A Stick Products
The Hillshire Brands Company is recalling approximately 58 million pounds of corn dog and sausage on-a-stick products that may be contaminated with extraneous material, specifically pieces of wood embedded in the batter, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced.
The Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief, public health division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.
This recall represents an expansion of a previously announced recall, ALFOODACT 2025-052, Foster Poultry Farms’ recall of 3.8 million pounds of chicken corn dog products, announced Oct. 6.
The Hillshire Brands corn dog and sausage on-a-stick products were packaged between March 17, 2025, and Sept. 26, 2025. The products subject to recall bear establishment number “EST-582” or “P-894” printed on the packaging. A full list of the product UPCs subject to recall can be found at this link.
