Freedom’s Choice withdraws Concord Grape Jelly due to quality issues
Freedom’s Choice is withdrawing Concord Grape Jelly due to concerns associated with excess air incorporation during production, according to a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) Internal Withdrawal notice sent Sept. 30. This issue may affect product consistency and appearance but does not present a food safety concern.
DeCA has publicized this withdrawal to all its stores, said Richard Stith, chief of the Public Health Division at DeCA Headquarters and Support Center at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, the items are immediately removed from store shelves.
The following product has been withdrawn:
- Freedom’s Choice Concord Grape Jelly 18-ounce. UPC: 842798102869, best-by-date: Jan. 1, 2028
Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.
